Once set up and frozen, they’re easy to use and keep everything cold for up to 36 hours. They’re reliable and work exactly as promised! SET-UP: Fill them with the included funnel, ensuring you measure water accurately, especially the first time. Insert the stopper securely, tighten the cap, and freeze flat for best results. They freeze overnight and are ready to use by morning. USE: Two large packs and two lunch-sized packs kept my cooler cold for 36 hours. Even when partially melted, they refreeze quickly for reuse the next day. TIPS: Keep extra packs in a separate freezer for convenience. A sturdier funnel may make filling easier. PROS: They work incredibly well, are reusable, and save money on ice and road-trip food. Perfect for keeping meals healthy and cold. CONS: Initial setup takes a little effort, and they need at least 24 hours to freeze. They can take up freezer space, so extra freezer storage is helpful.

I followed the instructions to prep the packs and froze them for four days to ensure they were completely solid. When we arrived at our destination four days later, after never opening the cooler during the trip, I was thrilled to find that all the meat was still entirely frozen without a single hint of thawing. I can’t express how happy I was with the performance of these ice packs! To provide extra insulation, I wrapped the entire cooler in a heavy comforter to protect it from sun and heat exposure since we were traveling into a much warmer climate. After unloading the meat at our destination, I placed the ice packs back into the cooler and stored it in a shed. When I opened the cooler a couple of days later to dry it out and prevent mold, I was amazed to find the ice packs were still frozen solid! These ice packs are incredibly effective, but it’s essential to freeze them fully and use the right quantity for the size of your cooler.
